The Legacy of Lillian Wald
This presentation will focus on the life and accomplishments of Lillian Wald, founder of the Visiting Nurse Service of New York. Raised in Rochester, Miss Wald was considered by the New York Times to be one of the most important women of the twentieth century.
Patricia Corcoran, our speaker, is a graduate of LeMoyne College and earned a master’s degree from SUNY Brockport. Pat retired after 30 years as an ESOL teacher with the Rochester City School District. Following her retirement, Pat was the acting director of the graduate TESOL program at Nazareth College and an adjunct instructor at SUNY Geneseo, St. John Fisher College, and Nazareth College. She is currently President of the Friends of Mount Hope Cemetery. She has been fascinated by the story of Lillian Wald for many years and is excited to share the life of this incredible woman.
Monday, October 5th will mark the opening of the annual Deer Management Program Bow Hunt in Irondequoit. The hunt generally takes place through the second week of December, but may end sooner at the discretion of the Town. For a listing of properties in the program click here. For more information about the program contact the Irondequoit Police Department at 336-6000 or police@irondequoit.org. See the web page for full details.
